These gatherings have reinforced the Organization’s role as a champion of best practices in the supply chain throughout the hemisphere and as a strategic ally to governments, customs authorities, and the private sector.
BASC Pichincha Celebrates 25 Years of Commitment
On January 16, in Quito, Ecuador, BASC Pichincha marked its 25th anniversary with an event that brought together affiliated companies, local authorities, and BASC representatives. The celebration honored the chapter’s long-standing commitment to promoting a corporate culture rooted in ethics, compliance, and security. During the event, the evolution of the BASC program in the country and its positive impact on the international competitiveness and reputation of Ecuadorian companies were highlighted. Thanks to the dedication of its affiliated companies, leadership, and team, BASC Pichincha has built a strong 25-year legacy in strengthening the security of international trade.
BASC Panama 2025 International Forum
On April 29, BASC Panama hosted the International Forum “Navigating Panama’s Maritime and Logistics Future: Securing Global Trade”, a high-level event that brought together over 150 representatives from maritime, logistics, and international organizations. As BASC Panama’s most important event of the year, the forum marked a significant milestone in the chapter’s institutional efforts, further consolidating its leadership in promoting secure trade. During the event, a Letter of Intent was signed between UNODC and WBO, reinforcing over two decades of cooperation. Thanks to the tireless efforts of BASC Panama and its leadership, the successful event once again positioned Panama as a world-class logistics hub.
BASC Colombia 2025 National Conference
On June 5, BASC Colombia hosted its National Congress in Bogotá, gathering business leaders, national authorities, international organizations, and representatives from BASC chapters across member countries. The agenda included panels with experts from DIAN, POLFA, UNODC, CMA CGM, and other key institutions. A highlight of the event was the signing of a cooperation agreement between BASC Colombia and Colombia’s Customs Authority (DIAN), underscoring the chapter’s commitment to the security of foreign trade. WBO participated actively with key contributions from Executive Director Suzanne Lemaitre and International President Erik Moncayo. WBO congratulates the BASC Colombia team for the successful organization of the event and for its leadership in strengthening logistics security, solidifying its position as a regional benchmark in secure international trade.
These events have demonstrated the leadership, dynamism, and coordination capacity of the BASC network across Latin America and the Caribbean—further strengthening relationships with strategic partners and promoting a more secure and reliable trade environment.
